Cazuca Visit

CAS Objectives:

  • Considered the ethical implications of their actions
  • Engaged with issues of global importance
  • Shown perseverance and commitment in their activities
Today we had an amazing visit to the Cazuca establishment, in which I had already gone the previous year, and was delighted to repeat this action. I was chosen to be a group leader at the visit, which means that I was in charge of taking the 7-9 year old kids to the different stations in which other students settled. There were stations such as sports, music, english, and reading, that were influential to the development of the kids throughout that day, and creating a connection bond between the kids and I. I enjoyed a lot having the opportunity to impact on these kids lives, and make them better for at least a whole day, and I really wish to continue helping even if it is at an indirect way.

CAS Soccer 3

Class Objectives:

  • Planned and Initiated Activities- I had to plan the different activities that we were going to do during the soccer lessons, while also organizing it, initiating it, and helping others to improve their skills.
  • Worked Collaboratively with Others- In this sport we are supposed to know how to work with each other as a team in order to be victorious. I really enjoyed working with others as it helped me understand that I can help people with certain aspects, and also learn a lot from them.

Today the main focus of the co-curricular football activity was shooting and passing the ball to the other teammates. Before starting the class I had to organize all the cones and balls in the specific order of the activity. I was able to help people on the skills they needed to improve, such as passing the ball straight without missing the target. It was very good to me, as I was also able to notice that I needed to improve my skills as they weren't perfect. Something I saw during the football co-curricular was that

Soccer CAS-2 hours Day Two

Objectives:

  • Worked Collaboratively with Others- In this sport we are supposed to know how to work with each other as a team in order to be victorious. I really enjoyed working with others as it helped me understand that I can help people with certain aspects, and also learn a lot from them.
  • Develop New Skills- In my first Soccer lesson, I was able to learn many new things, develop new skills, and improve the skills I already had. It was very good as it helped me improve in certain areas that I was not as good in.

In soccer we were required to improve our skills, by dribbling and juggling the ball around the field, along with activities such as passing the ball to another player, while at the end of the activity we played a match in a reduced field. From this activity I was able to help the players that are not very skilled in that specific area, which was a very great experience as I helped people with their difficulties. I was able to improve my juggling with the ball skills, as I am not as good as I could be, but I believe that with time and practice I will get better.

Soccer CAS-2 hours Day one

CAS Objectives:

  • Worked Collaboratively with Others- In this sport we are supposed to know how to work with each other as a team in order to be victorious. I really enjoyed working with others as it helped me understand that I can help people with certain aspects, and also learn a lot from them.
  • Develop New Skills- In my first Soccer lesson, I was able to learn many new things, develop new skills, and improve the skills I already had. It was very good as it helped me improve in certain areas that I was not as good in.

I am fortunate to say that my first CAS experience was a challenge for me, because I was not used into completing planning documents and organizing activities or teaching others how to play a sport. I chose soccer as my first CAS; because it is something I am good at and will be able to teach others how to improve their skills. The first Soccer lesson, my goal was to help the coach on the teaching of dribbling skills. I was successful on that goal, and it was very good to teach others what I know. We also did shooting exercises, to improve our aiming. I would say it was a good start for my CAS experience.
